The Diaconate of Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ is made up of men and women seeking to do the will of God by providing Christian service and guidance. The Diaconate's mission statement is as follows:
The Mission Statement:
The Diaconate of Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, elected by the congregation and ordained by the ministers, is called to be servants of God and the Church. As one of the spiritual arms of the church, the Diaconate endeavors to faithfully assist the ministers in the celebration of the sacraments of the church, visit the sick, shut-in, and bereaved members of the church and community, and assists the ministers with the spiritual activities of the church. Through various ministries, the Diaconate seeks to carry out its primary role of service to all. The Diaconate is committed to serving God and humanity. The Diaconate serves wherever there is need.
